November is Here! Don't Lose yourself in the Holiday Chaos.
November 3, 2026
The holidays are coming. Your health shouldn't be going.
Let's Talk About It!
November is here, and you know what that means!
The holiday season is officially beginning. The shopping, cooking, decorating, family gatherings, school events, traveling, endless to-do lists, and trying to squeeze 30 hours into a 24-hour day.
Sound familiar?
Life is always going to life, but during November and December, it seems to hit a whole different level of crazy!
And what is usually the FIRST thing we push aside when life gets busy?
OURSELVES!
We skip workouts. We grab whatever food is convenient. We sacrifice sleep. We stop taking time to breathe. We tell ourselves we'll get back on track after Thanksgiving, after Christmas, or everyone's favorite...
I'll just start over in January!"
But WHY?
Why do we spend the holiday season taking care of everyone and everything while putting our own health and wellness at the bottom of the list?
Here's a thought: What if January wasn't another restart? What if it was simply a continuation of the healthy choices you made in November and December?
Self-Care Isn't Selfish. It's Stewardship.
God gave us one body, one mind, and one life to steward.
Taking care of yourself isn't about being perfect, looking a certain way, or checking another box on your already overflowing to-do list.
It's about being intentional with what God has entrusted to you.
You cannot control every circumstance, every holiday obligation, or every unexpected thing life throws your way.
But you CAN make choices about how you respond, where you place your priorities, and how you care for yourself in the middle of it all.
And sometimes, taking care of yourself looks a little different than you think.
10 Ways to Stay Centered in the Holiday Chaos
1. Move Your Body — Even When You're Busy
You don't need hours in the gym. You need consistency!
Come take a HIIT class, build strength, enjoy Pilates, stretch with yoga, or simply get moving. Thirty minutes of intentional movement beats another day of saying you'll start tomorrow.
2. Schedule That Sauna Session
Take a break from the noise. Step into the infrared sauna, relax your muscles, enjoy the warmth, and give yourself permission to slow down.
Sometimes being still is exactly what you need.
3. Try a Cold Plunge
Need a different kind of reset? Cold plunging can be an opportunity to practice controlled breathing, mental focus, and getting comfortable with discomfort.
It's not appropriate for everyone, especially those with certain heart or circulation conditions, so make sure it's a safe option for you.
4. Book a Massage or Body Work Session
Your body carries the physical demands of your busy life.
Massage, assisted Stretch & Release, and other recovery services can help you relax, address tension, and make time for your body instead of constantly pushing through.
5. Go on a Coffee Date
Yes, a coffee date counts!
Meet a friend. Sit with your spouse. Have an actual conversation without rushing to the next thing.
People need people. Connection is part of wellness, too.
6. Take a Walk
Fresh air. Sunshine. Movement. Maybe some prayer time.
Walk alone, grab your family, or call a friend. You don't need an elaborate plan to enjoy a little peace.
7. Take a Deep Breath
Seriously. When was the last time you stopped and just breathed?
Put the phone down. Step away from the noise. Take a few slow, intentional breaths.
Not every minute needs to be productive.
8. Nourish Your Body Instead of Punishing It
The holidays aren't an excuse to abandon your health, but they don't require deprivation either.
Enjoy your traditions. Make intentional food choices. Stay hydrated. Eat foods that support your needs.
Around VivaHealth, we say, You can have what you want — just different!
Find ways to enjoy the season without losing sight of how you want to feel.
9. Protect Your Rest and Your Peace
You don't have to attend everything, volunteer for everything, or say yes to everyone.
Sometimes the healthiest choice is saying no.
Get your sleep. Make room for quiet. Give yourself permission to rest without feeling guilty.
10. Start Your Day With God and Gratitude
Before the shopping lists, notifications, and chaos, take time to get your thoughts centered.
Read your Bible. Pray. Give thanks.
Philippians 4 reminds us to bring our concerns to God and intentionally focus our thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.
Gratitude starts in our thoughts, and our thoughts influence our choices.
You Don't Have to Do It All. And You Don't Have to Do It Alone.
Here's something I believe wholeheartedly:
People need people.
We need encouragement. Accountability. Community. Someone to remind us that we're worth showing up for, even when life gets messy.
That's exactly why VivaHealth Wellness Studio is MORE than a gym.
We're not here just to help you sweat through a workout.
We're here to help you take care of yourself in ALL ways.
Whether that means:
- HIIT, strength training, Pilates, yoga, or mobility classes
- One-on-one personal training
- Infrared sauna and cold plunge recovery
- Massage, body work, and assisted stretching
- Red light therapy and other recovery options
- Health and nutrition coaching
- Accountability, encouragement, and a community that cares
There's a place for YOU at VivaHealth.
You don't have to be in shape to start. You don't have to have everything figured out. And you certainly don't have to wait until January!
We meet you where you are and help you work toward where you want to be.
This November, Choose YOU in the Midst of the Chaos.
The holidays will come. The calendar will fill up. Things won't always go according to plan.
But your health doesn't have to be the first thing you sacrifice.
Make the appointment. Schedule the workout. Take the walk. Have the coffee date. Book the sauna. Get the massage. Spend time with God.
You are allowed to be a priority in your own life.
And remember, your family doesn't just need you to do all the things. They need YOU — present, healthy, connected, and able to enjoy the moments that matter.
Don't spend November and December putting yourself last, only to spend January wishing you had made different choices.
Finish the year grateful you kept going, not regretting you stopped.
